Der Illusionismus
und
Die Rettung der Persönlichkeit.
Skizze einer Weltanschauung.

Motto:

"Quapropter effigiem Dei formamque quaerere imbecillitatis
humanae reor. Quisquis est Deus, si modo est alius, et quacumque
in parte, totus est sensus, totus visus, totus auditus, totus
animae, totus animi, totus sui."
Plinii major., Histor. natur. II. 5.
"Ich glaube, jeder Mensch lebt sein eigenes Leben und
stirbt seinen eigenen Tod, das glaub' ich."
Jens Peter Jacobsen.
"If we say in the language of St. John and his Platonic
and Gnostic predecessors 'In the beginning there was the
Logos', we use human language. But if we know that all
human language is metaphorical we shall never attempt to
force these words into a narrow literal meaning. To do so
is to create mythology. What lies behind the curtain of these
words is, in fact, the realm of Agnosticism. But all that lies
on this side of the curtain is our domain, that domain of
language and science, which in the chaos of phenomena has
discovered a hidden Kosmos, or the reflex of that Logos.
Call that Power the Father, or call it a Person, and you neither
gain nor lose anything, for these words also are metaphorical
only, and what constitutes the personal element in man or
any other living being is as unknown to us as what constitutes
the personal element in the author, the thinker, the speaker,
or creator of the logoi. All I maintain is, that if we ever
speak of a Logos and of logoi, and understand clearly
what we mean by these words, we can no longer say that
in the beginning there was protoplasm, and that the whole
world was evolved from it by purely mechanical or external
agencies."
Max Müller, Why I am not an
Agnostic. - Nineteenth Century, Dec. 1894.

"Es ist etwas in der Seele, das nicht erschaffen ist und
nicht erschaffen sein kann."
    Meister Eckhart.
